Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream: Tried and Tested review

 Ginvera Green Tea Nude cover BB cream is designed to give a natural and flawless coverage for all skin tones.

Enriched with Green Tea, Ginseng, Chinese Angelica and Hyaluronic Acid the cream provides the benefit of blemish free concealing, sun block effects and the reduction of wrinkles and fine lines.

As the cream isn't designed for one skin tone I was surprised at how well it absorbed into my skin and gave my skin a good coverage which wasn't masked by a orange tone. The cream feels really silky and blends in really easily.
The coverage is fairly light so I couldn't wear it on its own because my blemishes were still visible, however it provides a great addition to my foundation helping to keep my makeup on for longer.

For its silky coverage and skin benefits I give it 4/5

  • Gives a natural and flawless coverage for all skin tones
  • Keeps skin hydrated
  • Has SPF 30 in to protect from harmful rays
  • Would be great as a light coverage on holiday
Disadvantages
  • The coverage was quite light so I couldn't wear it on its own on a typical day

Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick in Amethyst Shimmer is a delightful vivacious pink that makes your lips shine. Designed to give eight hours of staying power, Rimmel's Lasting Finish has 50% longer wearing colour boost pigments so you will turn heads wherever you go.

The lipstick has a gorgeous vanilla scent and the colour settles in without too much resistance. The colour really complements my skin tone and I love how the shade has a subtle undertone that makes the  lipstick change in varying lights -  more wine in the dark and berry like in the light. Whilst the colour won't last the full eight hours (probably only possible if you don't move your mouth for eight hours), it does do well in lasting a good few hours whilst you go about your daily business. 

Overall a fab shade that will look great on a day out with the girls.

I give it 4/5

Life can often be hectic leaving us constantly on the go but it's important to take a step back and fit some me time into your weekly schedule.

Me time can consist of anything from curling up with the latest blockbuster to sitting in a bubble bath till your skin shrivels up like a prune. With most of my life spent working I like to spend my me time giving myself a makeover, combining the latest makeup looks and products on the market. Without makeup my skin looks quite plain so for today's makeover I wanted to come up with a look that really embraces colour and glamour.

For the Collection Bias shop I visited Boots, a High-street favourite who stock a lot of my favourite High-street makeup brands. With Maybelline launching so many fantastic products recently I thought they'd be fantastic to create a new look with products I've never used before. With my focus on colour I picked up a gorgeous sheeny pink nail varnish, the brand new Big Eyes mascara with top and bottom lash brushes, the gorgeous 24H SuperStay Lipgloss in Glowing Garnet and most importantly the new Big Eyes 4 colour eye palette.

First I covered the bases with Maybelline's brand new SuperStay better skin foundaiton in Light Beige gently blending it in so my skin was warmed up and any blemishes were covered. The new SuperStay better skin concealer worked well alongside the foundation, eliminating any darkness that the base didn't cover. To make my eyes stand out I used the Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Liner, a easy to use crayon that gave my eyes a glamourous cat eye flick. To make this different from my typical work look I ran the liner along my lower lashes as well so my eyes were framed.

With so many good reviews on the new Big Eyes mascara I can't tell you how excited I was to use it. The upper lash brush has a special design that helps to push up lashes with its uniquely shaped brush. The lower lash brush is absoloutely tiny and perfect for coating even the tiniest of lashes. My lashes looked long and curvy and really accentuated the eyeliner. The Big Eyes palette has four colours that work well together and add a really feminine, sparkly look to my eyes. I love how well the shades of purples work with the gold bouncing off each other. With my face done it was time to give my lips a little va va voom to really complete the look. The 24H SuperStay Lipgloss works like a lipstick giving intense colour that lasts for hours. Last but not least a makeover is not complete without a complete set of nails. Maybelline Color Show in Pink Slip works well in conjunction to the other products I used and helps to seal that Girly glamour makeover look.

With a makeover you really want to create a look that is different to your normal style. As I often have my hair straight I decided to create some waves, these worked really well along the new look showing just how glamorous you can be with a little bit of effort.

The makeover was great fun and gave me a good bit of time to myself focusing on stuff I want to do rather then stuff I have to do. Depending on the brands you buy you don't have to spend a lot on your makeover and can even focus on just jazzing up your nails with a new colour or some nail art.

Lazy Nail Wraps Collaborate with Tata Naka to create a series of unique print nail wraps

 Lazy Nails have collaborated with reknowned fashion designers Tata Naka to create a SS14 nail wraps. The wraps have a unique design that are inspired by Tata Naka's collection shown at London Fashin Week.

Tata-Naka was born when two identical twins from Tbilisi, Georgia began to design prints and contrasting opposites to reflect the dual nature of the brand. The Tata-Naka collection regularly stared in Sex and the City and was even worn by Carrie Bradshaw on the cover of her book.

Ambassadors of the brand include Cameron Diaz, Mina Suvari and Sarah Jessica Parker with celebrity fans like Jessie J and Pixie Lott.

The SS14 collection consists of inhouse prints that are based on their paintings and photographs, capturing real life imagery and timeless pieces that fans can fall in love with over and over again.

Designs that are available include Harlequin Ballet Print, Alphabet Print, Ballet Ruses Alphabet Print, Hexagon Ballet print and Blue Bird Ballet print.

I was lucky enough to sample these new designs, and have to say the design itself was eye catching and very colourful. There was a range of sizes to fit each finger, however I did feel they could have had a wider selection as a few of the wraps didn't fit snugly on my fingers. The wraps come with a nail wipe to remove any residue, nail file and manicure stick so you can even apply on the move.

The wrap stuck on quite well and other then the size difference my nails made quite a statement.

I'll give them 3/5

I applied this on a dry face to my forehead, cheeks, chin, nose and neck. The Brand New Mascara Revolution: Max Factor Excess Volume Extra Impact Mascara Tried and Tested

It's been on my to grab list since I first read an exclusive review back in December 2013. So what is it? Only the hottest mascara product of 2014 - Max Factor Excess Volume Extra Impact mascara.

The mascara uses a unique formula that helps to really boost and volumise lashes. With one end designed to volumise lashes and the other end to add a shiny lash holding lacquer, the product is designed to last.

On applying the Volume section I was surprised at how thick and lengthened my lashes were almost as soon as I started to apply the product. I applied several layers to both top and bottom lashes, and it's recommended to apply whilst the mascara is still wet. I did find the first mascara made my lashes really sticky and they seemed to stick together and clump a bit. After the volume mascara I added the unique lacquer to add a intense black colour and seal the volume in. Despite applying several layers I don't feel it really made any difference to my lashes and they looked the same as when I applied the first mascara.

The one big downside to this product is its difficulty to remove. The ingredients used really make the mascara 'stick' and you have to rub a lot to get this product off at night. At £12.99 this is one of Max Factor's more expensive products and with its difficulty to remove it does let the product down.

I give it 3/5.

Awaken your senses with Ted Baker's rose scented beauty set

Ted Baker have come out with a lovely range of beautiful rose scented beauty products. The new range includes a body wash, body spray and hand cream that come in gorgeous pink packaging.

The 50ml Body wash is blended with a mixture of rose, sandalwood and a cheeky twist of raspberry. The rose is quite subtle and I could really detect the raspberry undertone as the dominant scent. The body wash was easy to rub in and lathered up easily. For the rest of the day my skin was left with a pleasant scent that was not too overpowering.

Combining a mixture of rose and elegant sandalwood, Ted Baker's hand cream is infused with Shea butter and a twist of raspberry. During winter the skin on my hand can often be quite dry especially around the knuckles. The cream was absorbed into my skin relatively quickly and didn't leave a sticky sensation after the product had been absorbed. After applying my skin felt really soft with a scent that had quite a dominant rose note. With only a small amount of product needed per hand this 50ml hand cream will last for quite a while.

When you’re out and about it's important to stay fresh. Whilst perfumes are great for making you smell amazing the glass bottles can often be quite bulky, and heavy, taking up needless room in your bag. Ted Baker's body spray has a pleasant rose scent. The bottle is really small and as it's made of plastic is lightweight so will be easy to slip into a pocket in your bag. With a spray top the spray is easy to apply and one or two sprays gives off a pleasant fragrance. The smell is quite light but is good for a quick touch up when you're out and about.

Advantages
  • The hand cream has a lovely moisturising formula that sinks in quickly into the skin leaving skin soft and smooth
  • With strong raspberry notes the body wash leaves a subtle scent that is not overpowered by the rose
  • The body spray is useful for when you want to fresh up without lugging a bottle of perfume around
Disadvantages
  • The only real disadvantage that I can see is that the new Ted Baker range would not appeal to those who dislike floral scents.

Keep your cards safe on a night out with the Otterbox Phone Case

When you're out on the town the last thing you want to have to worry about is what you've done with your debit card. The Otterbox is the ultimate hero product for those who want to travel light on a night out using a unique slider pocket to keep your cards safe.

The Otter Box phone case is a unique product that combines robust packaging with a foolproof hideaway for up to 3 cards. The case has a sturdy outside cover with a inner silicone shell. If you're working in a mechanical setting your phone is more likely to keep your phone intact if it was to fall on the floor.

The case comes with a handy front cover however the plastic cut out at the top of the cover doesn't seem to fit the specification of the phone. The instruction sheet that the product came with is very basic and doesn't really explain how to set it up. I don't currently have the Iphone 5C and unfortunately I was sent the wrong case type so I cannot properly demonstrate the product. As the film cover only sits over your phone it won't be able to stop dirt getting between the film and the silicone and potentially damage your screen.

The silicone cover can be a bit of a pain when you're trying to plug in your charger or your earphones but helps in keeping your case clean and any dust out.

This light weight product offers protection and adds real peace of mind to your night out. With storage for card it can potentially hold a few notes safe too avoiding the need for carrying too much when you head out.

Passion Flower Medley Nail Art Makeover Inspired By Boots Beauty

Painting your nails can become more then a much loved past time with creative nail art. Combining a range of colours with a unique look, Passion Flower Medley is a design that will have people giving your nails a second glance. Surprise your friends and family and get them asking, 'did you do that?' with this simple tutorial. To create this look I headed over to Boots who have a fantastic range of Boots beauty products. With nail art you can work with a number of different brands to design the layers of each nail art. 


How to Do Tutorial
1. Firstly paint a layer of light blue varnish (Azure Amore) onto your whole nail and leave it to dry.
2. Using a striping brush paint a layer of mid green along the centre of each nail (Mint Bon Bon) so you have two stripes of colour now visible.
3. Grab a dark green/turquoise shade (Peacock) and using a striping brush paint a top layer on each nail. You should now have three colours.
4. Once your stripes are dry get the red nail varnish (Caribbean Coral) and again using a striping brush paint two to three flowers on each nail. Depending on the size of your flowers and how neat you are you can probably fit three flowers on each nail. Leave a small hole for the pollen in the centre.   
5. Using a spotting brush gently put a tiny amount of yellow (Barry M) in the centre of each flower.
6. To complete the look use the spotting tool to apply small dark blue dots (Rimmel Azure) to join up each flower.

    Model Co Lengthening Mascara Review: The Perfect Mascara For a Casual Day Time Look

    It's inconspicuous in its packaging but this Model Co mascara certainly pulls a punch or two.

    The plastic wand is kind to the eyes and doesn't scratch like some mascaras. My lashes were elongated and defined with no clumping.

    The mascara doesn't add much volume or thickness to your lashes but it's perfect for a casual daytime look. The product lasted all day and didn't leave any smudges over the course of the day.

    • Defines lashes with no clumping
    • The soft plastic wand coats all lashes without scratching the delicate skin around your eye
    • Lashes were left lengthened
    Disadvantages
    • If you like your mascaras to add volume in addition to definition this isn't the mascara for you.

    Avon Perfect Kiss lipstick in Smitten Red Review: The lipstick that will make your lips appear bigger

    Unlike Angelina Jolie I don't have a perfect Bee sting pout. There are many lipsticks out there that aim to define your lips or even increase their size with plumping ingredients but often fail to perform. Avon's Perfect Kiss in Smitten Red combines vibrant colour with a moisturising component that left my lips smooth and kissable with a noticeable increase in size. The product comes in smart silver packaging which gives it a more high end look.

    Having tried many Avon lipsticks before and being left disappointed with their performance I was fairly skeptic about how this lipstick would perform. The colour glided onto my lips remarkably well and didn't stick like some Avon lipsticks. I loved the colour and how it actually made my small lips seem bigger.

    The lipstick has some good staying power and even stayed intact whilst I drank tea. With its great colour, long staying power and of course its ability to make my lips seem bigger I give this lipstick 4/5

    Rimmel Glam Eyes Quad Smokey Purple Review

    Rimmel's Glam Eyes Quad Eyeshadow in Smokey Purple has a range of muted purple and pale shades to create a low key smokey eye.

    Having tried quite a few of Rimmel's Glam Eyes quads I had quite a lot of expectation for this eyeshadow. My initial thoughts were that some of the shades were quite hard to make visible on the eye, especially shade 2 - the light lilac. I had to apply the colour several times to get a good amount of colour on each eye. This may be intentional however which is why the Smokey eyes final appearance is so light.

    To achieve the Smokey eye I followed the guide on the back of the palette, applying shade 2 (lilac) to the inner and outer corner of my eye. I followed this with shade 1 (pink) in the middle of the eye which I accentuated with shade 3 (white) on the brow arch. Finally I blended shade 4 (dark blue) into the outer corner of the eye.

    The quad is long lasting and the eyeshadow doesn't crease. For its longevity and versatility I give Smokey Purple 3/5.

    • Versatile, allowing you to combine colours or wear alone
    • Creates a low key smokey eye perfect for wearing to work
    Disadvantages
    • The shades take a long time to appear visible on the eye

    George Lash Xtend Mascara makes your lashes look false

    Many people steer clear of budget brand makeup feeling they won't perform as well as premium brands like Chanel or Dior. This attitude however will have you missing out on many gems that are on the market at under a fiver whose performance far out way more expensive brands.

    George's Lash Extend mascara is one of those gems. Priced at only £3.50 this mascara has a dramatic lash impact that you would expect to pay a lot of money for.

    Made of plastic, the precision brush was very thin and long and after one layer my lashes were instantly lengthened almost to the same extent as some false lashes.My lashes felt defined and I didn't experience any clumping.

    The mascara is long lasting and still stood firm by the end of the day and the only downside I found was it wasn't waterproof.

    With a amazing lengthened effect from the first layer and fantastic price tag I cannot recommend this mascara enough. You may not be wearing falsies but this mascara will certainly have people thinking you are.

    I give it 5/5

    • Provides a dramatic instant lengthening effect
    • Lashes almost look false
